A very, very good and solid cd by these guys. A few familiar names, including Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish.Singer and lyricist is Juha Kylmanen, who does excellently on both counts. He has a strong, clear and appealing voice. Good, melodic, atmospheric metal here, if nothing especially stand-out. The album has no duff tracks, though, and there's reasonable variation in the songs, while they fit together very well as a whole. One track - Dear Carniwhore - sounds as though it would fit perfectly on the first Poisonblack album - you can almost hear JP Leppaluoto singing this one! This album doesn't really sound all that Gothy, but there are Goth elements - a tiny touch of Sentenced, maybe, in Autumn Harmony. All well done. One song sung in Finnish, and quite lovely .Well worth having! One that grows with repeated listening. I'm glad I discovered it. Pity there aren't more by these guys.
This bans is awesame and very unique. It sad that on real musical scene is a less quality bands. This band emphasizes a many mount of neoromantic lyrics. My favourite song from this album is Dancer in the dark. It me reminds true original expression of love, happiness but in very moments of depression, tragic, pesimism. However, other songs are good, too. Do you want total neoromanticsm music ? I recommend very for you. Buy it.
If you're sitting there mulling over whether to take a risk and buy this album, which you have never heard any of, I urge to to go for it. This is melodic Finnish metal at its very best. Most people will have come across For My Pain because of their connection, through Tuomas Holopainen, with Nightwish, and they will appeal to fans of this type of music. Every song is catchy, different, and emotional, and it's a refreshing change to hear a tuneful male voice, in a genre which is inhabited mainly by female singers, and male growlers. Standout tracks are My Wound is Deeper than Yours, Dancer in the Dark, Sea of Emotions and Autumn Harmony, most of which can be checked out in full on the For My Pain UK website. It's worth it....
