Great game for such a cheap price. The best part is listening to the radio stations and the crazy talk shows

Great game, funny, violent and a huge gamescape to explore.
Why only three stars?
For PC gamers you will get frustrated by the lack of saves and when missions end, sometimes as cops appear to bust you out of the blue, you're back to square one. Running off to the lawyer's AGAIN, back at the hospital AGAIN, back at the police station AGAIN. Yes you can then explore another way to your target and kick a few pedestrians for fun, but really you want to move on.
I guess for all but the best dedicated gamers, this is frustrating and tiresome.
Plus there are problems using a mouse alone and a gamepad is recommended for driving. Driving and keeping your foot on the gas is difficult with the mouse, yet I couldn't get all the commands I needed with my Sidewinder for walking around. So ended up using both.
The soundtracks are fantastic and you can't help but smile as you drive around Vice City, going where you want, taking any car or bike you want from the streets, listening to some cheesy rock and eighties pop pumping out your speakers.
Recommended and a perfect transfer to PC. If only you could move a bit quicker from mission to mission.

How can this really be an improvement on GTA3? GTA3 still is the #1 PC game, yet this one, does nothing for the previous;
the graphics look better in GTA3,
there is no sound, not even if you blow up a car in front of you,
there is no interaction between Tommy and anything else,
the view of the car is too akward, and there is little choice,
you cannot jump out of your car,
Tommy is out of breath after 2 seconds of running,
it is really hard to fight, as it takes too long for Tommy to get out a gun, and it is hard to punch someone as he starts to do a Kung-Fu type pose and stands there for about 5 seconds like it.
I have checked my system, and it runs fine, so it cannot be me.
Stick to GTA3, you wont get so frustrated.

Here's Why:
The game GTA III was brilliant. The storyline and everything. This is a bigger, better, sweeter version of the one before. In GTA: Vice City you can now get into helicopters, boats, planes, motorbikes and more. The graphics are also pretty good and there are hardly any loading times.
In couldn't find any flaws in the game, It just is THE BEST GAME at the moment. So far the missions have been really great and i'm enjoying living the ganster life in the streets of Vice City. The levels are absolutely huge and it'll take someone a long time to know your way about all of them. They are about 3 times bigger than the levels in GTA3 and those were very big. There are better weapons and cars on the streets and it's just a whole lot more fun.
I suggest to anyone who's over 18 to get this game and can handle it. If you havn't got it. You're missing out, even if you havn't got a PC or a PS2 (but of course you probably have or you wouldn't be reading this review) then buy one because this game is worth the trouble.

This is great - always what ive wanted, a game close to virtual reality where you can wander around the cities at your freewill doing anything from stealing cars to just having a cruise on the beach. And you can do this in this game. This game has got a big map, great missions, great soundtracks, everything is pretty realistic for this generation of computer games....pretty much one of the best and most re-playable games ever.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a game for anyone who has liked the other Grand Theft Auto title's. Vice City is larger than GTA 3's Liberty City and gives you the opportunity to use different vehicles than in GTA 3. I loved playing this game, and I'm sure a lot of more people will too.

The GTA games have always been good. Vice City is based on the excellent GTA3 formula, but sadly does not improve upon it.
The graphics are only improved a touch, and the range of weapons is pretty much the same as GTA3. There's a wide new selection of cars, but more notably, 3 motorbikes and a couple of scooters which provide hours of entertainment.
The missions are challenging to just the right degree, and you won't struggle through them, or amble easily.
The biggest criticism is the size of this game. There's not a great deal to see, and after a couple of weeks of playing, you will have memorised your way around the entire map, all the handy escape routes when you're on the run from the police, all the pay n sprays, gun shops etc.
The limited size of the game almost made me give it a 4 out of 5, but the fantastic and seemingly never-ending playability of this game means that you'll still be playing it regularly, months after you've completed it.

Grand theft auto vice city is one of the best games i have ever played, plenty of action, plenty of weapons and the best part is you can do what you want, explore the city, rob stores to get a little cash, buy some guns from the local gun shop, its brilliant and just so much to do, loads of missions to do, this game will keep you happy for a long long time.
5 stars and its wearth every penny!
