If you like Kate Rusby but haven't bought this, thinking perhaps that it contains a lot of songs from 'Sleepless', think again. Whilst the 'Sleepless' songs are 'played straight'as it were, these performances represent the great progress made by Kate over the years-they have a more live feel to them and are terrific. Indeed the two live tracks, 'Sir Eglamore' and 'Drowned Lovers' are fantastic-as her live performances always are.
'Ten' is a wonderful record-it displays exactly why Kate Rusby and her brilliant band are the freshest and most wonderful musical phenomenon to appear for years. All the cliches about 'if you don't like folk music you'll like this' are true. It's just beautiful stuff-more strength to them all.
