Are you fed up with the usual garbage that is heard on radio? Well then I suggest you order this excellent collection of basically garage punk. There's some old songs (Suicide, MC5) some new (Von Bondies, The Kills) and some rarities (Crime- Hot Wire my Heart, which was covered by Sonic Youth on their 'Sister' album) and this is just volume 1! I can't wait for volume 2.

This is possibly one of my favourite albums of all time, (and i have a lot of albums)If you like Garage rock and roll, then this is for you, You've got every rock and roll band on here, covering the last 25 years, from the likes of MC5, Iggy and the Stooges, Pixies and The Hives, The Kills and The Von Bondies.
It's down right dirty rock
Just buy it, if you don't you will be missing out.

Interesting and varied compilation album. The tracks I knew, are all ones I would not pick but generally it all works with a good number of new (to me) songs. Personal favourite - Underdog by Dirtbombs (an old Sly and the Family Stone track)

My strapline says it all really - a great compiliation that just about nails so many sub genres. The fact that some of the recordings are, ahem, a little lo-fi just adds to the visceral pleasure. Another great compilation from Rough Trade.

Got some real gems right here. Amazing that this form of music never fails to surprise. Basic twelve bar, scratch and blues licks. This has it all. The apology for not having a song by GOD is just icing on the cake..
