James Hunt was one of the best F1 drivers of the 70's and in my mind defiantely the best English driver ahead of Mansell and Damon Hill! This DVD is well put together, with a long interview featuring lots of racign footage from his early days until his retirement. There's none of his BBC commentary unfortunately, so we don't get classics like: MURRAY: There are flames coming from the back of Prost's car as he goes into the swimming pool.... JAMES: That should put them out then! The extras are pretty good, with a look at James' Grand Prix wins some sleeve notes, and a look at one of the F1 cars he drove. All in all, a very well done DVD about a real Boy's Own hero. The biography written on him would be perfect to go with this.
Another intersting DVD from a time when Motor Racing was totally different to today. Some will say this era was bad, others, wil say it was got the thrill of Motor Racing into their system. Certainly it can not be said that it was ever boring.
Well James himself was very entertaining, wasn't he? I was fortunate enough to have known James quite well in his formative years and his early racing career and followed his career with great interest. This documentary about his struggle and determination to become World Champion is very well filmed and presented and is also an excellent history of that period of motor racing when it was so very much more dangerous than it is today. For all aficionados of F1 this is a must have for the collection!
Very good DVD, shame the paper work was not inside case, but you can not expect all to be included when paying 54p for a dvd which was £20 pound when new, still excellent dvd and service from supplier very happy, I hope supplier sells more f1 collectibles,.
