This DVD is really only for devoted fans of Lauryn Hill. Her original album 'The Miseduction of Lauryn Hill' released in September 1998 had alot of people hooked on the Lauryn Sound. The Unplugged session simply comprises of Lauryn and her guitar. The songs she sings are very lyrical and almost a tale of her journey from big star to person at peace with themself. She demonstrates her new ability to play the guitar, and really draws the audience in with raw emotion and feeling. For those of you who have been waiting for new material from Lauryn Hill you may be disappointed by the new Lauryn Hill but for those true fans it's a very emotional enjoyable experience. Her voice appears very raspy which gives the music a grtty edge. I recommend really listening to the lyrics as they are very indicative of her views on the world. She starts by telling the audience that she used to be a performer but doesn't consider herself one anymore, I disagree she was born to share her music and I hope she continues to do so. The DVD is very inspiring and a good buy if you appreciate Lauryn Hill for more than just her music.

What has happened to Lauryn Hill , this Unpluged album has her talking of her intention to bring out a more defined album and this was in 2002 ....

To be honest she got her point across and would be hard to evoke the mood she created in this quite gritty beautifully honest monologue.

It a litmus paper.

If you hate it your in denial and Asleep.

If you Love it your Awake.

I came across this by accident trawling through you tube and had to get the album.

Respect

DvD provides upfront images of a strong, intelligent woman who is outwardly showing her struggles and her journey she is taking. Brave.

Lauryn Hill can sing! She can rap! Lauryn Hill can play guitar all on her own without needing any accompaniment.

Stand up and take a bow Lauryn Hill.

I love your lyrics Lauren.
