'Return...' Is such an amazing album; certainly up there, for me, with the very best live albums ever!

It's not quite the original line-up - after all, Styx had a different guitarist for their first 4 albums - and it's not quite the 'classic' group, as John Panozzo - drums and percussion - died before the tour, but it's a great reminder of just what an amazing vocalist Dennis DeYoung is.....

Famously recorded on the last night, in their home city of Chicago no less, of their 'comeback' tour of '96/'97...and both crowd and band are in rich form.

All the hits are here - 'Rockin' The Paradise', 'Blue Collar Man', 'Too Much Time On My Hands', 'Lady', 'Grand Illusion', 'Fooling Yourself...', 'Babe' and many, many more - and the sound and visuals are just great; clean and sharp, nothing fancy and over the top....

Mind you, Dennis is at his camp best, Tommy Shaw, with his still poster-boy look and utility handyman style, and James Young with his hard rocking style...and Chuck Panozzo just quiet, and smiling.....

Brilliant DVD and, do check out the CD release of the album with some great new tracks.....

I think this is essential.....

Great rock DVD from a great band. All the hits are there and, fortunately, the heavier rock style of James 'JY' Young and Tommy Shaw wins out over the more theatrical approach preferred by Dennis DeYoung. The harmonies are excellent and the excellent Todd Sucherman provides powerful drumming to drive the whole thing along. If you are 'of a certain age' and remember their original albums you will love this.

This was indeed a great buy,the Band were at their very best & this was truly far & away one of the best live concerts i had listened to & i have listened to a few over the years.Many Classic songs played to a high standard. This one even had buy in from the lady of the house & i think that says a lot.

With all the different editions this Dvd comes by, of course I had to go and choose the pitiful one, which is the one by "FNM Falcon Neue Medien" with the ASIN B000DZ832E. AVOID at all cost: it has very poor menus and (most of all) no 5.1 surround sound (only Stereo).

The one you want is by Sanctuary Records with the yellow banner on top of the cover and the ASIN B000E0LCSU.

From the first pictures until the last this DVD captures Styx very well. The quality of camera but also the quality of the sound is very good.
Specially Dennis DeYoung's voice is great on this DVD that contains most of their greatest songs (Rocking the Paradise, Boat on the River, Babe, America, Suite Madame Blue, and more).
These guys really rock, they played harder than I remembered them.
The concert itself is over 90 minutes.
The bonus features are a liitle dissappointing:
* static pictures and history (I rather read it then on paper);
* interview by Tommy Shaw (good);
* some private video shot by the new drummer;
* 1 song of their latest studio album (just sound).
Still this DVD brought back great memories and I will play it lots of times !

Wonderful start, great tracks and performances. So happy with my purchase but then I have loved them since a teenager and I am still rocking at 52. Enjoy a wonderful mix
