I was intrigued when I first heard about this album as I had understood that the original recordings were long deleted and unavailable.
Then I spotted mention of it on a couple of websites but with observations that the disc (on an obscure Far East label)was considered to be an unauthorised issue and of doubtful quality - in other words the purists wouldn't touch it with the proverbial bargepole.
However, I was then amazed to find that Amazon were offering it (unilaterally it would appear) from stock.
Although a little pricey by current "oldies re-issue" standards I took the plunge and ordered.
Said cd arrived promptly, has full artwork/track listings etc, credits the original production dates, and contains all their best known material.
The recordings ARE the original hit versions and the sound quality is absolutely magnificent. If this disc is unofficial they must have had access to the original masters because I can't find fault with it.
A highly recommended slice of nostalgia from a great band.
In closing I've got to say that this isn't the first occasion when I've had to look to unlikely parts of the world for re-issues of pop classics - domestic labels please note!

The CD 'Cupid's Inspiration - Yesterday Has Gone' was something I bought on impulse, happened across on Amazon purely by chance. Although I remembered their two 1968 hits 'Yesterday Has Gone' and 'My World' I had no idea what else this long forgotten band had done, and was amazed at how good the songs on this CD are, and how well they stand up today - not at all dated. It seems as if Cupid's Inspiration were ahead of their time, and certainly deserve to be much better known. This is a really great CD, and one that I never tire of hearing. It's a shame their stuff isn't played on the radio, or that this CD isn't available in the shops - but who said life is supposed to be fair?!!. It is a real collectors' item, and one definitely worth buying.

I'm surprised that cupids were not more successful probably due to just one album . The music is very innovative and stands the test of time, title track everyone loves. Great voice, so treat yourself to a good album and keep your eyes open they have been gigging recently, not to be confused with Cupids Inspiration (without the apostrophe) .
Originally from Stamford, Lincolnshire, not all that far from where I now live, Cupid's Inspiration had one top 5 UK hit and one lesser UK hit, before seemingly disappearing without trace. This CD has the track listing (12 tracks from the original album plus six bonus tracks) but otherwise contains no information. There is at least a Wikipedia page about them, for those who need to know more. The original lead singer who sang on the hits, Terry Rice-Milton, had a great voice, very soulful.
Their big hit, Yesterday has gone, was originally an American hit for Little Anthony and the Imperials, as I learned a few years ago when I bought a compilation of their music. I don't remember their minor hit, My world, from first time around. Although I was a teenager at the time and still at school, I didn't take much notice of music back then. However, there were a few songs that nevertheless stuck in my mind, among them Yesterday has gone.
When the CD era got going in earnest and just about everybody from the sixties had their music reissued, I fully expected a Cupid's Inspiration re-issue. This never happened and I don't know the reasons, but reassurance from other reviewers about this CD prompted me to buy it.
Perhaps it is a bootleg, but who cares? Amazon have implicitly approved it by listing it and that's good enough for me.

In my college days of the late 60's I like my fellow students used to steer clear of buying records by pop groups/ bands that use to clutter up the charts. Instead we use to listen to alternative acts such as Spirit, jefferson Airplane and the Steve Miller Band. However there were exceptions and Cupids were one of them. I heard the Sad Thing which I believe was an ill fated follow up single to Yesterday Has Gone and was amazed on how good it was. A stomping track with incredible lead vocal work. I knew YHG was good as was My World, but until I recently acquired this cd I did not realise the quality extended to other tracks. Terry Rice Milton -the lead singer has got an amazingly powerful voice which coupled with sharp production on most tracks has lead to a surprisingly enjoyable cd. The music is quite diverse and original and I am given to believe they wrote most of the material . There are a couple of weak tracks - Sweet Music and Green Green Trees spring to mind, but the remainder are well worth the money. Buy it you won't regret it.

I know that this CD is a bootleg. I didn't expect the quality to be 100%. How wrong i was! Since the sixties i have purchased a hell of a lot of bootlegs-some good, some bad. This has to be has to be the the best quality bootleg i have ever purchased. I have all Cupid's Inspiration,s vinyl but a CD is more compact & i have been looking for a legitimate release for a long time. I am disappointed that the record companies haven't even considered re-releasing Cupid's Inspiration's back catalogue & for this reason bootlegs appear on the market. Fantastic quality & i would recommend this CD. I am just a little bewildered that Amazon allow bootlegs to be sold. I'm not complaining. It's my gain!
