I remeber listening to David on Radio Caroline and RNI radio stations in the 1970's, and suffice to say that his album, 'livin's just a state of mind was album of the week. I also remembered some of the tracks and vowed to but it as soon as it was on cd. So on this comprehensive package I have the tracks i have been searching for, a great track listing to give a flavour of a great 'forgotten songwriter' the music world ever had.

Coming from Northern Ireland I always had a soft spot for David McWilliams. I have all these albums on vinyl from many years ago but wanted to get the mp3 versions. I know the songs well and they still stand up as being fresh and original all these years later. Above all else is David's voice which is full of warmth, feeling, tenderness and love - a true singer/ songwriter and sorely missed.

Had this album over 20 yrs ago but lost it somehow. Music and song with more than a passing nod at history. Really pleased to be able to replace it.

Looking at the tracks on this Cd there is the complete Lord Offaly Lp on this disc,(tracks 1-10) which is great! Even Dave didn't have a copy of this incredibly rare Lp, (master tapes were destroyed in a fire apparently,) and once Dave had to ask me to sent him the verses to the songs, from my Lp, for a concert he was doing! Lord Offaly was IMO among his best work, some wonderful songs. This has to be worth buying for this alone!

Why should you buy this? Well Days at Dawn represents three excellent and very hard to come by mid seventies albums from the Days Of Pearly Spencer man. Here taking on the mantle of Folk infused country Rocker. If you share an affinity with this kind of music this is a worthy purchase. These albums[Lord Offaly, The Beggar And The Priest and Livin's Just A State Of Mind] as far as i know are unavailable anywhere else and are among many great releases that Sanctuary put out during the first half of the post millenium decade, all now slowly disappearing into the ether and the realms of collectability and serious money. At the moment, as of the date of this review it is still available.
