For the first time in their promotion of a single, Pet Shop Boys tried the DVD. Now, in light of this product, it was not a very good idea.
For two main reasons: first, the sound is quite poor. "Nightlife", a perfectly good B-side, is offered here with a strongly muffled sound and clustered instrumentation. When one knows how precise and detailed the Boys are in their production, this can only been viewed as disappointing. Same with the otherwise very good USA Club Mix of "Break 4 Love" but the persistency with which the Boys offers any version of this track in their "Home and Dry" singles is starting to get tiring...

As for the video of the title song, somebody will have to explain to me the relationship between the beautiful ballad "Home and Dry" with the rate-infested London underground.

Overall, a big disappointment...

It always comes as a surprise to hear a new PSB song. You never know: it can be an up-beat anthem to dance to or a whispered love song. This time Tennant is singing something new, is singing something different, something more moving than ever. A ballad. An inspired love ballad, were words and music perfectly match. Were words and music are talking about longing, separation and loneliness. A ballad that will undoubtely became a classic tune, like a Burt Bacharach song. Forget about going to the disco: PSB are back with their best single since Can you forgive her? They're back in a "Behavior" style, back in an intimate mood, back in a whispering, beautiful, incredible voice. They're back and they're proving the world that the best is still to come. You're gonna love them more than ever.
