Cruise a total bellend
on 3 February 2017
This film blows my mind, it is beautifully filmed with such a fabulous soundtrack, though i may be biased because i love sigur ros and there are two tracks by them in this film, however, all the other tracks fit in so well too.
The story is a bit complex and upon first viewing you might be thinking "what was all that about?", so the movie does require a second look, and i love these kind of films, it makes you think, rather than being a simplistic lame action superhero film or equally lame romcom with equally bad acting, this film has many facets which are utterly compelling and roes require a bit of thinking on the audiences part, which in my mind makes a film very enjoyable and extremely watchable.
I have probably watched this movie 30 times now and it never gets boring, never, in fact i just bought the movie here on amazon so i can watch it again tonight just to remind me how good this film really is.
The acting i think is ok, Diaz is scary, Cruz childlike and Cruise a total bellend, however you do warm to these characters pretty quickly, they are all human and familiar to us all. I already mentioned the soundtrack, i honestly believe that if this film didnt have any music in it at all then it would not resonate as much as it did, but the music within this movie is perfect, utterly perfect, and it really adds to the feel of the film, and the choice of the last song in this movie just completes this film, i really could not think of a more fitting song than the one by Sigur Ros, the song in question being Njosnavelin, otherwise known as The Nothing Song, or Untitled #4.
As a side note, i thought Cruise never looked as handsome as he did in the film, the first half anyway, most certainly in his prime.
Go watch, it is one of the best film around in my view!
