This album which i believe is Anoushka's first full solo performance album.(not forgetting the talents of the accompaning tabla and tanpura players). is a masterpiece from start to finish.it contains some of ravi shankars finest
pieces of music.yes!Anoushka maybe the daughter of the legendary Ravi Shankar.but even if the world had never known of Ravi.Anoushka is a beautiful sitar player (in both looks and in her playing style).and you get a real feel of the pleasure she gets playing this beautiful music.by the end of the cd you really do wish that it had a longer running time.it does make you want more.

I have been a fan of Ravi Shankar's now for many years, but in recent times have become aware that Anoushka is carving out a career path of her own. I think the first piece of hers I actually heard was a sitar solo called "Your Eyes" which she played at the concert in memory of George Harrison in 2002.

The present disc, I believe, is her first solo live performance, and a great one it is. Hard to pick out a favourite piece as they are all well played and recorded. The first few items were recorded at Carnegie Hall, October 6, 2000 (I think this was the same concert that produced her father's "Full Circle" album - also well worth a listen), and the last and longest item was recorded at the Salisbury Festival in 2001. This is music to enchant and delight - even if you haven't tried Indian music before, give this a listen. It's an amazing work for a twenty-year old, and Ravi can be proud.

It is hard to believe that this talented and confidant performer was so young at the time of this recording. To play at the Carnegie Hall must be a daunting experience even for a seasoned musician.

This is one of the best CD on Raag by the young Anoushka. There are parts I liked better than her father's Ravi Shankar. Very enjoyable piece of work. Definitely recommended

Very pleasant. Giving an upgrade to modern listening of Classical works without disrupting the flow of established techniques. Recommend it. RDR
