The first time that I heard "Polyester" I marvelled at its richness both lyrically and technically. Maximilian Hecker's voice has a certain edge to it which gets even better with "Sunburnt Days" and "Green Night". The first time that I heard this album I was taken on a journey from start to finish and it is a real joy to find an artist of real quality emerging from Berlin.
The album seems to be itself almost a narrative telling a story of immense pleasure and pain. At the start you are transported to another world with the first three mellow tracks and then the next three or so leading to "Over", another track that encapsulates all that is good about this artist.
I recommend this album for both when you are feeling happay and when you are feeling down as at both times it will have something new and different to offer. The last two tracks, "Let Me Out" and "Today", have a very chilled out vibe to them and the album ends almost in a whisper and all you want to do is start the ride all over again!
