Light, fluffy nonsense, I loved it. This is a cheery and not very cynical look at homophobia. Despite this, the blossoming relationship bit was actually very sweet. RuPaul was a total revelation too.

The movie was very funny and touching because it was a comedy but also a love story, but it wasn't your julie roberts kind of romantic comedy where everything is predictable from just reading the title. It handles the subject of sexuality very well and seriuosly yet never really over emphasising on homosexuality and suffocates you on it. It is entertaining and amusing and an enchanting love story. Although the movie is overall a comdey and makes you laugh through out the film it does make you think about the fact that those places really exist and how people even though knowing better will still try to be normal for the sake of others and themselves. But it gives you a sense of what it means to be gay and proud. If you can't laugh at the story line then the music is sure to at least raise a smile. The best part of the movie i think was when she realise her true sexuality. A romantic comedy without the ott juile roberts factor.

This is a very beautiful life-affirming film - which also succeeds in being very funny and a great satire. Natasha Lyonne is very sweet and acts her socks off in this movie and there's a remarkable cameo from Ione Skye.

With much of the Waters troupe in the cast, this has much of the zest of a Waters movie but Jamie Babbit is a great director too.

when i first watched this movie i was questioning my sexuality like many of the characters in "But im a cheerleader". It has helped me soooooo much to feel good about myself, and, after buying it on video i constantly watch it and have been prone to getting ,my mates to watch it with me - those who have seen the movie all love it too! - they all; deliver supurb performances and you can't help but fall in love with clea duvall and natasha lyonne. and the music? since i first saw it ive been trying to track down the soundtrack. no luck as of yet, sadly!
and best part? the quote near the beginning i think:
"hi. i'm graham. and, i like girls. a lot"

This is such a funny film and I can't believe I'd never heard of it before! Yes, it is about homosexuality, but don't be misled. It pulls on all of the stereotypes of homosexuality concerning male and female stereotypes. It does it so well and the cheesey music makes it even wittier!
The casting is good, with the fantastic Eddie Cibrian (Cole from Sunset Beach), Cathy Moriarty, RuPaul, Clea DuVall, and Melanie Lynskey from Heavenly Creatures, that was a good touch!!! And many more, they all do so well and play their parts to the max their characters can go - which is far!
I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is intolerant of homosexuality because you need to be able to make light of it to be able to enjoy and appreciate the film. I have managed to convince friends to buy it since I did and they all love it. This film is my new phase!
I think it was made a little before its time. being released around now, it may have received more publicity. Regardless, it is definately worth buying, and I welcome people to challenge me otherwise!!!

I watched this film, slightly under sufferance from a friend -all I could think that it would be "yet another teen flick" I was pleasantly surprised -it had me in stiches! I know that it was predictable to say the least, but it was just so much fun that the fact that you knew what was going to happen at the end didn't matter! Its the kind of film that you can watch more than once and still laugh!
Just generally a lot of fun!

this film is excellent for many different reasons . It's clever without being prententious , artistic without being boring , camp withour being embarrassing , but most of all its a bloody good laugh . It manages to portray homosexuality without worrying about being politically correct . The stereotyped characters could never be veiwed as poking fun at homosexuality because what the film shows is the ridiculous attitudes people have towards sexuality . Both the acting and film making are superb , this definatley ought to become a cult classic .

This is a very funny film. Wonderful acting by both Natasha Lyonne & Clea Duval (Faculty & Girl Interupted. If you don't like this film then you must have been asleep or somewhere else. Its a must see. If you liked American Pie for Humour and If these walls could talk for passion then you'll love this movie.
