Curious. Susumu Yokota normally produces LPs full of odd (though hypnotic) little noodlings which typically end up in the background of Channel 4 documentaries about underage drug abusers.
"Could Heaven Ever Be Like This" though is straight-up, no nonsense funky house with a dash of disco and even - gasp! - a vocal. No idea why he made this, but I'm glad he did - it's got a nice squelchy bassline and Jamiroquaiesque strings, but is just peculiar enough to stand out from the funky-house-by-numbers crowd. If you're a fan this is similar to his stuff on the LPs "Will" and "Sound of Sky". If you're not - he's well worth it getting into and this is probably the most accessible thing he's ever done.
