The original studio version of Suspicious Minds(track 2), from 1969, is arguably Elvis's best single. Elvis sounds soulful because of the whole sound of the production from the wonderful 1969 Memphis sessions. The female voices overdubbed onto those recordings added a new dimension to the Elvis sound, and nowhere are they heard to better effect than on Suspicous Minds. Younger listeners who want to hear more of the same should listen to the album From Elvis In Memphis, or the superb Suspicious Minds double album.
The live version (track one) is enjoyed to best effect when viewing the video, edited from the film Elvis That's The Way It Is. This new single deserves top ten status.

The release of the live version of Elvis 'The King' Presley's greatest ever recording gives both the true fans of Elvis and the present generation, that so often perform this classic so badly at karoke nights, the chance again to here how this very powerful song should be sung. Suspicious Minds is a favorite with all ages as was shown when Texas performed this classic in there live shows earlier this year. This will rightly again be a sure-fire hit and rise to the top of the charts. Elvis Lives!
