Whether you grew up listening to or are trying to understand eighties music, then this is the album 4 u.Inspired by the tv series of the same name, the album boasts many tracks that were featured during the tv show.musicians such as Adam Ant,Culture Club,Style Council,Rick Astley,Terence Trent D'arby etc were included in the show and invariably so were many other of the songs in this cd.Eg Marvin Gaye(well known Levi's ad), Jan Hammer(Miami Vice theme),Simple Minds(the brat pack segment) AND S-express(craze for Garfield Dolls in '88.There are a few duds on the album such as Altered Images' Happy Birthday,David Bowie's Absolute Beginners and Prince's Kiss. But these are cancelled out by timeless classics such as Two Tribes by Frankie Goes to Hollywood,Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie,You Spin Me Round by Dead Or Alive, Walk this way by RUN DMC and Fools' Gold by The Stone Roses(probably the greatest indie-dance music crossover track ever made.definitly the best eighties cd around

What an awesome cd.Having been a huge fan of the TV show, the album is a great tribute to the 80s.Everything from the new romantics(duran duran, human league) to synth-pop(a-ha,paul hardcastle) to the rave scene(inner city,s-express) is included. It also is done in chronological order so that the entire 10 years of the 80s are cover, which makes it the best 80s compilation to own.

Released in 2001 to correspond with a TV series of the same name, 'I Love 80s' is a two-disc CD set chocked full of some of biggest hits of this excellent decade of music.

With 42 original recordings, the value is not in question, and although to anyone who already owns a compilation of the 1980s music, the track list should have a familiar look to it, what a line up! Predictably, the musical style is mostly that of the pop vein, with a few exceptions of indie and disco.

Big names and icons of the decade are featured across these two discs in spades, including David Bowie (represented twice with both 'Ashes to Ashes' and 'Absolute Beginners'), Prince, Blondie, A-Ha, Kim Wilde, Culture Club, and Nik Kershaw. A pretty nice touch is that all the tracks are presented in chronological order, ensuring that every year in the decade is cover.

'I Love 80s' is a fitting tribute to the 1980s, and will make a great present for music lovers.
