2 CD's of music for Voice and Lute and Guitar from Renaissance Spain. Disc 1 includes vocal and instrumental works from the Spanish court at Naples (1442 -1556)represented by works from Hayne van Ghizeghem, Johannes Cornaago, Antonio Cornazano, Guglielmo de Pesaro, Giovanni Giovanne da Nola, Nicolas Gombert, Antonio de Cabezon, Diego Ortiz, Antonio Valente, Adrain Willaert. Disc 2 is devoted to the composer who is the most representative of the period, Antonio de Cabezon, in an all instrumental compilation. Fluid instrumental playing and fine vocals, create an atmosphere of deep golden bronze and lush velvet tone. Highly recommended.

The second CD on this set is instrumental only and I play it far more often than the vocal CD.
For those who enjoy this genre this double CD will prove a winner

A fascinating collection dating between the 15th and 16th Century, with a mixture of lively and contemplative music

A good recording of 16th century music but it's partner Armada is much better, in my opinion. Still a good CD though.
