First of all I'm not a jazz lover (at least I thought so...). I was in a hi-fi store and they had this DVD playing as an hi-fi system demonstration. I heard a part of the track TUTU and I just thought: I've got to have this!
Don't get folled by the PCM track only 'cause the sound quality is great.
There are some interviews that appear between tracks but short and don't spoil the overal apretiation of the DVD.
If you like jazz you probably know this if you don't... give it a try.

This DVD is well worth buying if you're a Miles Davis fan - the sound quality is excellent, the band is great, and Miles plays well enough for the year-1989, although he does seem to run out of stamina at some points.
The band is great - in particular the sax player, Kenny Garrett, who carries off more sustained solos than Miles. Unusually, the band has 2 bass players - although the excellent "lead" bass player (Foley) spends most of the time using the top 3 frets to play lead guitar lines at half-speed, which makes you wonder "why not get a guitar player".
Make sure you listen in plain stereo, the way it was mixed.
There are only a few faults on this DVD: Some of the synth sounds are dated, There is some interference patterns in the video at some points, and the interviews! The interviews are the worst thing, tracks are interrupted for vaguely related soundbytes from Miles, in an annoying documentary fashion. Be careful - in one interview (about the media), Miles uses the "F" word, which may not be welcome to some viewers.
On the whole, well worth buying

Having already received a copy of this from another supplier which wouldn't play because it was Area 1, I was delighted to finally get a copy which worked. Excellent condition, plays pergectly.

First of all, I'd like to state that I think Miles is the greatest jazz musician of all time.
This DVD, however, is dreadful. With all the synths and 'lead bass' it has that horrible 80s sheen and lack of soul commonly associated with porn film soundtracks. Miles just seems to ramble on, and as another reviewer said, just doesn't have the stamina.
However, I'm giving it two stars - the first is for Kenny Garrett, who is as incredible on this as he is on (nearly!) everything he plays on.
The second star is for the sheer comedy of Miles' jacket, and just the general 80s get-up of the band.
