Songwriter, singer & actress Mishi Donovan ( Pretty-White-Dove-Bear-Child ) is a Chippewa/ Ojibwa Cree from the Turtle Mountain Reservation in North Dakota.
There is a lot of pain, passion, conviction, and deep respect for many things, in Donovan's themes & voice. One is left somewhat in awe, with a sense of strength emanating from this poised, resolute woman - who has suffered much, but sings in a way that suggests she's back from far.
Some exciting songs too, just from the sheer lovely sound of them, the nicely-instrumented & lively rythms.
1. Letting go ( A prayer song) 2. Forgotten yesterday 3. Ne' Ya 4. Shadow Dancer 5. First Nations 6. Vision Quest 7. Go On And Run 8. Bartender's Song 9. As seen through a child's eyes 10. Does it take death ( to make it clear)
