This review is for the scarce Canadian 15 track issue - which features 4 extended versions (3 as bonus tracks). This is possibly so far the only CD location for the original extended mix of "Game Above My Head", as the Joseph Watt re-edit appeared as a bonus track on the more recent re-master of Mange Tout - this compilation features the mix on the Waves 12".

The tracks are all singles, plus the odd b-side, and the session track "Your Time Is Over" (from Mange Tout era), so this is a very strong collection of all their hits up to "What's Your Problem". If you want later singles then the yellow blancmange covered compilation, or the Platinum Collection, will include a few extras, although they also tend to have some fillers.

Whilst Neil still carries the name, and some of his more recent solo material is pretty good, this compilation covers the duo's really essential single cuts.

One of the better electronic bands of the 80's.
This best of compilation is recommended. Great sound and not a single dud on this compilation.

Up there with 80's electronica of Heaven 17, The Human League, OMD, Depeche Mode and Soft Cell.

Get it.

It brings back the memories of when I was 18 all over again. at the time I'm struggling through college, the long bus journey, the endless lectures, but at the end of the day I could sit down and relax to the sound of Blanmange.
From the shrill sounds of "waves", which could give deer levels of relaxation to the cover of the classic bacharach / Abba Blancmange version of "The Day Before You Came".
A very wierd name for a band, but remember they made it to number 1 with "Living On The Ceiling" (describes how I felt sometimes at that age.
I wonder if they will ever make a come back with what was at the time revolutionary synthasised music, I remember them clearly as if it was yesterday as I listen to the "Best of" CD from Amazon, their first of many appearances on the world renowned TV programme "The Tube" Pure music listening pleasure - GJL
