Those who imagine Delakota as a bunch of beered up lads singing along like demented Bobby Gillespie clones to soul classics should take another look because with 'One Love' Delakota confirm themselves as absolute demons when it comes to a tune. Mainly ignored these days in a post-Strokes world, Delakota were one of the only good bands to appear in the post Brit-Pop wilderness. 'Cmon Cincinatti', '555', and 'The Rock' are cheery lazy tunes that just demand to be playd on a hot summers drive to the beach for a good afternoons lounging. The baggy and Big-Beat (ugh!) comparisons are evident but never threaten the coherence of the tunes. Give it a try alongside that David Holmes CD you borrowed off your mate and that copy of 'Sticky Fingers' that jostle for your attention while you ponder the incredualty that they haven't released much else.
