The debut album from just about the best band ever.-"The Only Band That Matters"
The album came at a time when Punk was taking of.The stadium bands we're at last out of fashion.Never has a time in music history witnessed such raw, energetic aggressive music such as this.
I mean, can you imgaine been a teen in 77, turning on you're radio and hearing "Career Opertunaties" or "White Riot"....? It would have blown you away.
RIP Joe Strummer

Excellent album both as nostalgia & also a breath of fresh air. This is why they were SO important. Essential purchase

Classic punk album. White Riot sounds more powerful on this version than on the US release. I would highly recommend!

Brilliant album. Shame it is remastered as it had a slightly more edgy sound in it's original recording.

From the first 15 seconds of "Janie Jones" this album sounds and is essential listening.

A lean, tight and effective album. "Career Opportunities" is incisive and taut. "Police & Thieves" is a brave step that pays off. "Remote Control" is a gem. "Garageland" is explosive.

Listen with respect and learn.... Strummer, Jones, Simonon and Headon would surpass this but only just.

This has got to be one of my favourite albums. It captures THE CLASH's finest hour before they lost the power and agression which is lacking on their other albums. If you thought that London Calling was good you'll love this album more......so buy it now.

This is when the Clash were still punk. The original version is the best, with 48 hours and Protex Blue, etc. This and the Pistols debut are the definitve punk records.
