I got this album last year and wasnt quite sure what to expect. I had only heard summer girls an girl on tv but thought they were excellent so i decided to take a chance and buy the album. Its a great summer album which is a mix of perfect pop and a little bit of rap, which gives it a very funky feel! Most of the album is filled with uptempo catchy songs, such as "the reason why" and "westside story" but songs such as "Forever" and "think about you" show a very different side to LFO. "Forever" has to be my favourite of the album, a catchy ballad which sounds more like the backstreet boys. "the reason why" is a great summer track which will get ya grinning from ear to ear and jumping about! Definatly a part track!
Over all this album is excellent, and even if you arnt a complete pop fan you may still enjoy this album as its very rappy and catchy.

Well, whaddya know? LFO have managed to live up to the hype and have produced what is, in my opinion, a really terrific LP. This CD yells out one word - summer! It's all about sunshine and holidays, relaxation and partying (?)! Although it may not be the deepest, most thought-provoking record of all time, its real strong point is its laid-back, funky, yet at times melancholy grooves that entice you into the songs, such as West Side Story and The Reason Why, and make it a truly unforgettable listening experience. The rapping may not be to everyone's taste, but to be honest, when it comes to shaking your thang under the elusive spring/summer sunshine, there ain't a thing better. Try it if you liked (or loved, as I did!) Summer Girls and Girl On TV - and you won't be disappointed!

Since I first heard and saw this band perform 'Girl on TV' on MTV some time ago, I thought this really is a great song. It's got such catchy, uplifting and comical lyrics. The first song on the playlist,'Summer Girls' is great as well, and very similar. I have to agree with what another reviewer said; in that the rest of the music is somewhat 'mixed' in styles by comparison, but this does not detract from the overall album at all. Definately a must for any music collection. I hope that we will see more of LFO!

Two hit wonders Lyte Funkie Ones have really not made a bad album here. It's poptastic summer nonsense from 5 years ago but it will always have a certain resonace and I defy you to not know even a few of the lyrics to "Summer Girls" ("New Kids on the Block had a bunch of hits, Chinese food makes me sick, and I like it when girls stop by for the summer..." etc etc). It's not big, it's not clever, but it does have 15 tracks on, almost all of which deserve a blast in the shower, or a hum-along-to on the way to work.

The songs on this cd are what the title suggest FUNKY! The sont Summer girl and the Girl On Tv has a similiar hip hop beat whereas the rest of their album is more of a mix of styles.

This album is so bad its brilliant, full of cheesey pop songs and feel good music. A definite purchase for anyone who likes their pop music.
