I heard this album on vinyl LP in about 1984, the interpretation by Barney Kessel and Ike Isaacs is superb.
The Hair musical, controversial at it's release in 1968 on stage due to its full frontal nudity contained some great songs.
The instrumental interpretations on this CD are very well arranged and thought out. I played along to them againstthe LP and learned them note for note. I guess my favourite track would be the opener Aquarius, Hank Marvin of the Shadows covered this on his solo LP in 1969 and this version by Barney Kessel and band is a nice laid back jazzy California sounding interpretation.
If you are a fan of Jazz guitar, Barney Kessel or late 60's music, then you should have this in your collection!
