A culmination of hard work ( and releasing Sit Down about 3 times) got James to Goldmother. Utterly beautiful album with hits like Come Home, Lose Control, how was it for you? and Sit Down, interestingly though check track listing for Sit Down as it was not included in the original release. Absolutely love this album, not heard it for a long time so was a joy to buy it and blast it out once more! Walking the ghost is such a beautiful and haunting track which I had completely forgot about.... Thankyou James..
As a James fan this album has to be the best of them all. The flavour of the early 90's Manchester music scene (which James were a huge part of) is clearly evident in tracks like "Come Home" and "Loose Control". When tracks such as these are accompanied by the energetic tune and brilliant lyrics of "How was it for you ?" the album is always going to hit the fine line between easy listening and sheer brilliance. For music lovers who are new to most of James' material there is the familiarity of the massively sucessful anthem "Sit Down". A song known and loved by any indie fan around in the early 90's.
