OMG this album is utterly brilliant. Much heavier than Saxon of old and a real joy to listen to!

Saxon have done it again. With this album they have returned to the 'heavy rock' music that they do best but with a modern, louder feel and plenty of guitar. Gone is the soft rock pap. You must be mad not to buy it.

This is the greatest cd I have ever heard!!!! It is a cd that every music lover should have. It's hard to belive that saxon has been together for over 20 years! And to be able to put out a heavy metal cd like metalhead. Please do yourself a favor and get this cd! You won't be dissappointed

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best CD I've ever heard (as another review says!) but it certainly is one of the best of the 'later era'(mid 90's onward)Saxon releases for me.
Songs such as 'song of evil' are just plain daft and drag it down abit but highlights such as 'Conquistador' combine abit of historical narrative and great song which give the best.
Haven't got the faintest idea what the title song Metalhead is about for example, so as long as you keep in mind some of it is enjoyable tosh I would thoroughly recommend!

This is one of the best 90 Saxon albuns. ritz Randow on the drums kicks ass. My favorite track is Conquistador.
