I first heard the man playing in a township night club in Harare and his music is even better live. Tuku Music is a superb CD and a must for anyone who likes a soulful voice and sharp guitar. The lyrics are about everyday life and are relevant in any language and the melodies are just so spot on that they transport you away to Zimbabwe. Buy it for your collection now.

Yes, masterpiece that's what it simply is. One can never get enough superlatives to describe this one. I urge everyone out there to just buy this one, go home, relax on the couch and let the music begin. You'll love what you hear! Trust me.

A real winner! There is some very attractive music to be heard on this latest offering from Oliver, which never fails to please the ear and which left me in no doubt that he must be among the very best African song-writers and performers. Singing in his rich, expressive way and playing acoustic guitar against a backing of electric guitar, traditional percussion and female vocals he has blended unmistakeably Zimbabwean rhythmns with often poignantly beautiful melody (and, I suspect, lyrics also) to produce an album which I have not stopped playing for two weeks. Good recording, too. Don't miss it!

I first came across Tuku and the Black Spirits on a Womadelaide Compilation CD and found the head-line track "Todii" one of the most amazing sounds of all time. Much of this collection is also Very Good but ,despite the fact one has no idea what they are singing, that track "Todii" is still one of the most exciting sounds from more than a thousand albums I have enjoyed over the journey.
