This is the best drum and bass i have ever bought! and i have been listening to the music for 6 years so i have a fair idea of what im talking about! Along with Wormhole, Timeless, Inside the machine and Modus Operandi, I loved this from the moment i first heard it, the standout tunes are the digeridoo 'Focus' and the dark and deadly 'Uneasy' which mesmerised the listeners mind.'20 Degrees' showcased the angry vocal talents of Silvah Bullet into a stormer. Pleaes buy this album as i feel it has been overlooked by many people and it deserves all the respect.

this is just purely hard. Not as catchy as other stuff I have heard by Jonny L but very tech step and beat orientated with some howlings etc in the background giving it a darker feel.
There's a vocal song on it but that doesn't make up for the pure evil that is this record.
Whatever happened to the good old happy days of jungle aound 94, 95, 96....well that's all good too and I must admit that I am primarily a DJ Hype, True Playaz, DJ Zinc type of guy.
But once in a while you need something so hard and dirty that it makes you want to snort cocaine through your arse and eat doner kebabs out your ears.

I have had difficulty getting hold of many D&B albums that are really REALLY dark with fat dirty bass lines. This is one of them.

I don't like it because all the tracks on the album are far away from "Brother" which is my favourite one. I expected more superb tracks like "Brother". Album tortures with repetitiveness.

As a collector's item for drum and bass djs this album is a classic...however as a CD to be listened to at home it is not. Unfortunately, the late 90s saw alot of good producers release albums on CDs (Like Decoder's Dissection or Saigon's Incoming)expecting the same result as Roni Size's New Forms without realizing that the musical detail must be increased if you want an album people will listen to as well as dance to. Magnetic is great, but it doesnt have the musical quality of New Forms or Timeless to justify it as a home album...now if it was mixed then it would work as a home album to jam to.

This is the last CD I buy based on the consistently good reviews of other buyers.

I have given this CD one star because it's just not worth opening the CD drawer for, it'd make more sense to pick a 'Drum and Bass' ring-tone from your phone and claim that to be 'dark' D&B.

I don't think I'm being harsh here. If the people who rated this five stars ever come across some the best D&B out there, then you'll know why I seem harsh here and pity you for missing out on some serious music. Only about 10% of the D&B made really hits the spot, but when it does nothing else can touch it.
