This rarities compilation is highly recommended. Despite the massively wide-ranging styles (ballads, pop, heavy rock, even some reggae and demo tracks), this mixture of tracks recorded between 1977 and 1997 showcase the many talents of the band and the album is pieced together surprisingly well. A live recording of Lukather/Paich-penned 'On the run' is the highlight, featuring a terrific shuffle groove from the sadly missed drummer Jeff Porcaro in one of his last live recordings. Bobby Kimball (soon to rejoin the band in time for their next album to the delight of all Toto fans) features as lead vocal on two of the other stand-out tracks, the midtempo 'Goin home' and the lovely ballad 'Right Part of Me'. Joseph Williams also makes a welcome return on 'Last Night' and the album features three tracks from their South African tour, including their classic 'Africa'. Well worth a listen and it helps you to appreciate how talented the band are when you hear all the different styles of music included here.

This unique album has all the unreleased tunes throughout their 20 first years of music hence showing the evolution of their music. Extremely personal songs and comments in the cover. Preferences may vary with styles but there are so many in this album that there is a lot to choose from. One disc that actually has every member collaborating in it.
