A remix album from Michael Jackson seemed a risky move at the time. When you have great songs, you don't ruin them! Luckily BLOOD ON THE DANCTE FLOOR/ HIStory In The Mix is a 5* album from a 5* artist!

Track 1 "Blood On The Dance Floor": Who doesn't know this one? Michael's hit no1 and rightly so. If you don't know/love this song already, you don't deserve this album! 10/10

Track 2 "Morphine": "Trust in me, put all your trust in me, you're doing morphine"!!! MJ screams over upbeat drumming and beatboxing music. Throw in some "hee hee's" and a couple "Aaows"! And you got yourself a song!!! 10/10

Track 3 "Superfly Sister": MJ asks what's happened to love in a out and out rock song. "Push it in and stick it out that ain't what it's all about" he croons. 10/10

Track 4 "Ghosts": A ghouly outtake of "Thriller" from the album of the same name. Ghostly sounds amongst guitars make for an epic. 10/10

Track 5 "Is It Scary?": Using some of the same lyrics from the previous track, but this ghouly record gets at the paparazzi. Pop at its own best! 10/10

As for the remixes. All very good!

There is nothing I can say that has not already been written by other 5star Reviewers, apart for the fact that this cd has brilliant lyrics and music. Although I must admit I was not keen on the re-mix tracks when I first played this cd. However, it was well worth buying!!! Definitely would recommend.

This album and the eponymous single shot striaght to number One in the UK chart yet was less successful in the US. Even though this is a strange hybrid of an album - a split between new songs and dance remixes - it's probably one of my favourites, if not THE favourite. It bursts with Michael's anger and vitriol yet his voice is just amazing. The two tracks Ghosts and Is it Scary? are, I believe, the best things he's ever done. The lyrics to the latter are heartfelt.
To me it's on this album that you really get an inkling of how Michael Jackson really feels. It's as if he's not acting a role any more. And check out the powerful remixes of This Time Around, Scream amd 2Bad - they're beter than the originals on HIStory. You Are Not alone is given a bright and breezy treatment while the cries of "We're talking danger, baby!" on Stranger in Moscow, fair belt out on this remix.
Powerful stuff that's also incredibly energising. Pulsating. Recommended.

Sits within my entire collection of all of Michaels albums, so sadly missed by us all, this is a bit heavoer and darker than a lot of his music, but still enjoyable, with some fantastic basslines

Michael Jackson never fails to amaze me with his music. This particular CD is absolutely worth the money and recommend it. The 'club mixes' is so very different. Michael's music will always live on.
