This album was released as a cassette only affair back in 1983
on Peter Hammill's Sofa Sound label. It got a proper CD-release
ten years later. When I bought the tape in 1983 I already owned
the classic albums Sitting Targets, Enter K and Patience that
date from the same era. This one is quite different, heady,
experimental stuff, but it is certainly a very interesting side-
line to Hammill's work. Not a good one to start with, it is better listened to when you already know some of his other work.
Highlights are Ritual Mask (with Hammill playing the Kora,
an eastern string-instrument) and The Bells, The Bells, with
fascinating tape-loops.

Thought I'd write a review after nearly fainting when I noticed that someone with no taste had given this a one star review. I originally had this on tape back in the 80's and was very pleased to get a cd version. This has many highlights, my favourite moments would have to be the eerie version of 'In Slow Time' (prefer this to the Black Box Version in all honesty) and the wonderful never end piano of 'My Pulse', everything else ranges from the experimental to songs but it never grates and is very listen-able. Probably my favourite of the Hammill experimental works....

only liked 1 track (in slow time), the rest is garbage, this should have never seen the daylight!

Come on Pete how about another patience type album
