This album is the reason I started listening to The Cardigans. It has a completely different sound to their earlier material. This is when The Cardigans grew up. There isn't a song I don't like on this album. Standout tracks include 'Paralyzed' with crunchy electronic distortion adding a whole new layer to the music, the catchy 'Erase/Rewind' and the immensely popular 'My Favourite Game'. Nina's vocals are beautiful as ever, even dreamy on some tracks.

If there's a The Cardigans album you ought to buy, this is the one.

A vastly different and darker album than its predecessors, this is probably the best release by The Cardigans. Definitely worth buying with 3 great singles featured (namely 'My Favourite Game', 'Erase/Rewind' and 'Hanging Around') as well as 8 other tracks of a fairly high standard. As ever, Nina Perssons' vocals are gorgeous and the guitar work is clever and understated.

I bought this for a single track and hoped the rest would grow on me but they didn't. I also buy a CD rather than a download because the quality is always better.

"Gran Turismo" is far from "My Favourite Game" and some other songs. In fact, "My Favourite Game" almost feels out of place, it's "rockiness" being in stark contrast to the beautiful minor-key keyboard and drum-machine ballads of unheralded album tracks such as "Explode" and "Higher". It is not perfect but well worth a listen for fans of melancholic female-fronted pop-rock.
