I have had an old, old copy of this album in my collection (on vinyl) for ages and have recently had to purchase it on CD as my old copy has so many crackles, you cannot hear the silence. This is one of those little masterpieces that creeps up on you. The title tack is wonderful and has, I think, one of the best Corea solos on record. Everything, however, is understated - no awesome RTF pianistics here! These two blokes are really listening to each other and you get the impression that they like each other. The pieces are like a two way conversation between friends of similar opinions and likes and dislikes (the purcussive style of Corea on piano fits well with Burton's very light, swinging style on vibes). This album will not be to everyone's taste as some may think it a little too quiet. But, these melodies (and there are lots of them - this is not 'difficult' or unapproachable music) seem to play on the mind. An unobtrusive, lyrical and rich record that repays repeated listening. Only given four stars as Corea has produced work just as good on his own and those new to jazz who perhaps do not like the sound of the vibes may want to explore his other solo albums first (see the excellent 'Children's Songs).

Been a Chick Corea fan since buying the ECM "Return to Forever" album in 1974 but only recently bought this collaboration with Gary Burton.
The two instruments work so well together - love it.

This is an absolute classic album, with both artists at the top of their game. Magnificent!
