The late Tony Ashton (kbds/vcls), late Kim Gardner (bs) and Roy Dyke (drms) trio are probably best known for their Resurrection Shuffle pop hit and here they extend the religious theme into an album's worth of material c/w occasional gospel backing. The music is an infectious blend of jazz-funk and pub rock with highlights being Don't Want No War No More and Paper Head, Paper Mind where the band really get behind Tony's organ (Hammond, that is!)/piano and groove. Deep Purple-ites should also check out Tony Ashton & (another late) Jon Lord's First of the Big Bands and Paice Ashton Lord's Malice in Wonderland. For rock trivia fans: Roy married Stacia, the dancer from Hawkwind.
