Not as good predesessor
on 24 June 2009
I have owned this album on vinyl for many years, and bought the CD as it was it was cheap and my old vinyl copy is not good.
Considering its the album after Moonmadness (my favourite Camel album), it lacks the atmosphere, and generally sets the tone for the later albums.
However, the cost of the CD alone is worth it for the Peter Bardens track 'Tell Me', a moody ballad, with great fretless bass playing.
If you like later Camel albums (and I have a few) then it will please, however I prefer the earlier albums, as although you can tell it is Camel, they became some what more commercial, especially after Bardens quit.
Still, a decent buy for the price, and some great, but not outstanding tracks.
