Ah, Mr. Idol or William Michael Albert Broad as he was actually born. First off, you'll be glad to know that with the exception of one or maybe two tracks this really does constitute a best of, all of the tracks being his more favoured. I have to say that I think Billy suffers a bit from being underrated and the odd music snob turning their nose up at the very mention of his name. Well that's their loss, I personally think that on this album that you'll find 11 well crafted pop songs that will easily get your foot tapping. Personal favourites of mine being Flesh For Fantasy and Hot In The City.

I think you can do a lot worse than this album, if you are already a fan of Idol then you already know what you are getting and this is some of the best and if you're new to him then this is a great introduction to his stuff.

'11 of the Best' was originally released in 1988, and although he had other successes after this, it still contains the majority of the versatile English rock vocalist Billy Idol's greatest hits, especially the biggest and best-known ones. However, with only eleven tracks, it doesn't offer the greatest value for money, but their are several other options available, including The Very Best Of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself, which contain all these tracks, and seven more. Although there are more comprehensive collections available now, as this was the first one to collect together all of the original versions in one place, I still have to rate it five stars.

'11 of the Best' obviously features the two biggies, 'White Wedding' and 'Rebel Yell', both of which were released in 1987, and other familiar hits like 'Sweet Sixteen', 'Dancing with Myself', and 'Hot In the City', all of which provide the highlights for me. As well as being noted for giving us some very catchy, feel-good rock songs through the Eighties, Billy Idol, as you'll hear time again on any record, also possesses a very strong voice which still holds up today.

With the cream of Billy's classic material all on one album, '11 of the Best' truly lives up to it's name, and provides an excellent single purchase if you only require the obvious tracks which made his name.

I'm surprised that since his appearance in The Wedding Singer Mr Idol has not had a revival. Regardless, those who were lucky enough to be growing up with 80's music will remember this dude and how good his stuff was. They're all good here but Eyes Without A face remains my favourite - (I had my first kiss to it which probably explains why). So do the right thing and get yourself a copy. Soon.

Brilliant 80's rock. What's to fault? Takes me back to my youth when I was sweet 17 and just passed my driving test.

You don't realise how good Billy Idol is until you actually sit through this album.
Some great tunes and a lot of his big hits.
Would've been nice to maybe include some of his earlier Generation X stuff such as King Rocker, but the later Gen X stuff is a great addition.

Anyone into classic idol will appreciate this album. Also under the name of 11 of the best which is extremely hard to get hold of, it features all his greats.
