If you're into Jazz guitar by the likes of Grant Green, Melvin Sparks and to a lesser extent Jimmy Ponder then you should definitely give this a spin. I own the original LP but it is good to see Luv and Haight commit this to CD. The album (LP) was quite rare and was exchaning hands for silly money especially because it was made on Joe Jone's own Joka label and for the absolutely stomping cover of Stevie Wonder's "You got it bad girl". If ever a track made an album then this is it. Listening to the opening bars you would never expect it to be a real floor stomping masterpiece. The improvisations are absolutely amazing and it is up there with some of my favourite Grant Green masterpieces.
It would be wrong to think of this as just a one track wonder album as it is consistently good throughout with my other favourite tracks being "Confusion" and "Sweetback".

Another collectors piece available as a limited edition reissue on vinyl by Love N' Haight records. Surrounded by a superb line up, Ivan funks it it up with some groovy jazz on guitar. The main track on the album is: Sweetback, don't think I know a Jazz dj or collector that doesn't play this track. Essential Jazz.
