This is an excellent compilation of the more later Wipers stuff combined with some of Greg Sage's solo material. It's also the perfect price for people with a passing fancy, or for people that are familiar with the Nirvana cover versions and want to hear what inspired them.
Although most artists later work tends to falter, Greg Sage's songwritting abilities only seemed to get stronger with time. Every song on this album stands out as being brilliant in every way. It's easy to see why he and his band had such a huge impact on the grunge scene in the late 80's/early 90's. These songs are raw, melodic and powerful. There's a hummable tune underneath every screaching guitar riff, and jangly chord sequence. What Greg Sage has is a rare talent that you don't come across every day, let alone in Punk music.
The box set is also well worth the money as it features the bands first three albums that have been long deleted. But if you're not familiar enough with them, and don't want to 'waste' the money, this is a great place to start.
This is a GOOD compilation. It gives you an idea of what this band was all about ,covering all their phases and also Sages' own work.I admit that my choises would have been slightly different in some cases but that's just my opinion. But please don't stop here-there are so much more to discover in their whole line of work.Top honors for the ones responsible for including the very hard to find "No solution" and "My vengeance" in this. I would buy this record for these two songs only."My vengeance" redefines the term "dynamite".Hear it loud and your world will never be the same again...
