Word has it Joe Boyd produced Duelin' Banjos. There was no credit on the original record. Other than that song and its B-side this album is actually an old Elektra album by Eric Weissberg and Marshall Brickman, the same Marshall Brickman who went on to write scripts with Woody Allen for Mr. Allen's movies. As a whole this is a very good but not great bluegrass album. One irritant is the lack of liner notes or credits. I am told Clarence White plays the flatpickin' guitar on a few of the Elektra tracks but I do not know this for certain.

Funny who the kid in the film is playing clawhammer banjo and yet the song is played in a Scruggs bluegrass style with a three finger roll and picks.
