Long before the days of Dr. Doolittle and Daddy Day Care, Eddie Murphy was a loud-mouthed, unsubtle performer who, with videos such as Raw, and albums such as this, made a name for himself as one of the best stand-up artists around.
This is by far his best work. "Singers" features spot-on impressions of Michael Jackson, James Brown and Stevie Wonder whilst "Ice Cream Man" is a hilarious recollection of his childhood obsession of the ice cream van.
If easily offended by foul language then look elsewhere. Otherwise, sit back and listen to the star of Beverly Hills Cop and 48 Hours at his best.
