Chrome are one of the most important bands of the last 25 years and this 3 CD set attempts to compile their most crucial material from their most creative years. For those who don't know, this period spans 1977 to 1985, when Helios Creed and Damon Edge created some of the best music ever to be heard. This music spanned many genres, including industrial and punk, but it defies categorisation. When Creed left, due to differences with Edge, the band continued (the so-called 'Edge Years'), but they were a shadow of their former selves.
This set, which comes in a nice box, with a free sticker and poster, as well as a small booklet with the CD, contains most of their released material during this era, and certainly all that was great. All of 'Half Machine Lip Moves' and '3rd From the Sun' are here. And let's not forget that this is currently the only way of accessing the music on many of the original Chrome released, such as 'Blood on the Moon' and 'Red Exposure'.
If you care about music you need to get this, and when you do, then rush out and get 'Flashback'. It might duplicate some of this material, but the live disc will knock the fillings right out of your teeth!
