What a shame that this talent has been lost to such a cruel illness. ...The guy is just amazing on the guitar.

This is a 5 star album, no question! Becker had gained amazing abilities on guitar before he was out of school, then teamed up with Marty Friedman for a while to form Cacophony... so once he'd reached this point, he had truly mastered the guitar and he shows it. With tracks like Altitudes, Perpetual Burn, Air, Eleven Blue Egyptians, Dweller In The Cellar, this album is worth every penny!

Some of the best electric 'rock' guitar playing ever. What else can I say? A match even for the likes of Satriani.
For those who have never heard of Becker; invest in this. Well worth it.

Best album by the greatest guitarrist ever: Jason Becker. The album produced when he was 17 is a "must have" to all the guitarrists.
The product quality is excellent. One of the best choices that i ever made. Can't wait to buy "Perspective"!

jason becker ,if yr a fan of shred guitar was a extremely talented guitarist from the 80,s.
and this was his solo album ,he was in the band with marty friedman called cacophony ( try speed metal symphony)
this cd is brilliant and one of the best guitar albums of the 80,s and possibly ever.
his playing is very skillful and in the case of air(brilliant track) emotional. check the start and finish of the song ,the fingerpicking is absolutely amazing
altitudes is excellent well brilliant really and the other tracks are just as good and showcases a brilliant guitarist at such a young age ,i dont even think malmsteen or angelo would have been this good at this age.
amazing guitar album from the 80,s BUY IT

Anyone rating this album a 4 is seriously tight at marking. You could take any two seconds of material on this ablum and study the complex arpeggios packed in for hours. The number of notes played must average 30 per second.
If you want to hear a guitarist who had an esoteric skill to play brilliantly, get this.
--JASON BECKER IS A GUITAR GOD--(although he would never admit to it of course).

As a guitar nut I don't know how I've made it this far into life without hearing this album. It's flash, it's fast, it's grandiose.... it's everything that is right about this genre of music. Vai, Gilbert, Satriani, IA Eklundh et al fans need to by this.

The all time best electric guitar based instrumental album! Truly superb!! Still one of my all time favourites since 1988! J Counsell.
