I remember purchasing this album as an LP way back in 1987 and am still listening to it to-day due to the high quality of the songs combined with excellent vocals and strong guitar work.
The driving opening number 'When the Hammer Falls' is strong, with Sammy's screaming vocals front and centre, you don't forget this one in a hurry believe me.
Next up is the song 'Hands and Knees',my long standing favourite Hagar number, there's an atmospheric quality to this song that I love and Sammy's guitar playing and vocals are first class.
I won't explain every song on the album but 'Where eagles fly' is another outstanding track.
To sum up I believe this album is certainly as strong as his 1981 album,'Standing Hampton' and would recommend any Sammy Hagar fan to check it out.
The cover art of Sammy hitting the notes with his Gibson Explorer is also great......1987 was a fantastic year for rock music!!!

This was S. Hagar's last solo album before he joined Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen played bass on it. In my opinion it's one of the weaker solo albums of S.Hagar. It's still good and has great moments (When The Hammer Falls, Eagles Fly) but it's not so outstanding as his other solo efforts.

I ordered this album after lending my original cassette tape to a friend who managed to snarl up the tape. It's fantastic music to work out to - even for a guy in his 40s reliving the 80s.
