One of the melodies and a snippet of lyrics will be familiar to fans of the Rolling Stones since they covered it four decades later on their "Beggars Banquet" album as "Prodigal Son". The original title was "That'll Be The Way To Get Along". However the rest of the songs on this collection have somehow escaped not only the general public's notice, but blues musicians also have not included them in their repertoire, which is a bit strange since so many of them are worthy of being covered. Wilkins was a great songwriter, great guitarist and great singer to boot. Why he is not mentioned in the same breath with Skip James, Son House and Bukka White is beyond me. This is a flawless collection and covers a variety of styles within the blues genre. Highly recommended for both fans of pre-war country blues and anybody looking to expand their horizons.
