Fantastic book with one flaw
on 26 December 2015
This is an excellent book and a must for any gin fan; the gin descriptions are great (so many of them!), and it's highlighted a few that I really want to try. The history section is interesting, and the book is presented in a compact but high quality form.
The only weakness is the lack of consideration to garnishes, which is where I feel the real art is in making a good gin and tonic. Whilst garnish types are covered, there is nothing specific relating to the individual gins. For me this is a glaring oversight, as this is what I really wanted the book for!
They do suggest it's about experimentation, and while I agree to a point, a proper garnish guide should absolutely have been included in this.
