This is a beautifully produced book. Full of detail and history of one of the great wine regions of the world. In depth coverage is given to each different commune and the photographs are excellent. Where it falls down is that there are no vintage ratings nor are there any notes to tell you where then photographs are taken. Nor is there an index. All these are minor quibbles. The interviews with the villagers who lived in the region are wonderful and convey a sense of being wrapped up in tradition and past hardships particularly during the war. Any lover of Barolo/Barbaresco should not be without this book.
