This book is wrong classified between "Nature themes". Ortega y Gasset was a philosopher and lived at times when nature in Spain was only a matter of poor countrymen. Some books were undoubtly prophetic for good or bad. "Invertebrate Spain" was firstly published in 1922 and still is worthwhile. In this book were outlined that Spanish decadence was prone to disintegration and there was the Civil War of 1936, and now, from middle sixties there's the Basque terrorism that has produced about 800 people killed or murdered in terrorist facts and plain confrontments between ETA, police and Guardia Civil. Ortega y Gasset, formed in Germany as majority of Spanish intellectuals that were forbidden after the victory of Franco was an author sometimes seen only as a lively thinker but not arriving to the heigth of a philosopher to the eyes of many Spanish readers, but curiously has been repeatedly reprinted in German, country of Fichte and many others that also dared to sketch the future mostly tragic of Germany during the following hundred and fifty years.
