This was the first Slayers tape I bought, I don't regret it! We're almost kicked right into action as Lina fights some bandits, only to meet her rival Nahga the black serpent. The two goes to the Island of Mipross, only to find out that things aren't quite right, and when they get offered a reward for helping out? They help of course! But things doesn't appear to be easy... Lina is having weird dreams, an old man called Rowdy seems to know more than he says, and worst of all... they encounter Mazoku/demons, and rather mean one called Joylock... The animation is superb, it's classical Slayers humour, and if you like anime, you'll LOVE this one!

As a relative newcomer to the Anime genre, Previously only having seen Fist of The North Star ( also excellent) and various series on TV, I was very pleasantly surprised by this title. It proves that Anime does not need to be ultra-violent to provide non-childish entertainment. I thought the whole film was wonderfully drawn and animated, and the humour, while not hugely sophisticated, to be very amusing in a surreal way (especially the sea cucumbers!) The only down points I found with this film were the constant jokes about Lina's breasts, which became a little wearing, and the perhaps slightly ponderous plot development in the early stages of the film. Otherwise, this was an excellent piece of animation which I recommend Fully.

Slayers the Motion Picture takes place before the actual Slayers TV series, during the days Lina Inverse, the Beautiful sorcery genius, toured the land with her friend\sidekick\lackey\arch-nemesis\pain in the butt Naga the White Serpent. The two fight yet again under hilariously violent circumstances to determine the fate of a group of thugs, and venture to mysterious Mipros Island, and island surrounded by eternal mists that part only once every few years... On the island, They continuously stumble into weird sorcerers, magicians and illusionists trying all sorts of nasty stuff, while Lina is plagued by rather annoying dreams - but are they about the past, the present or the future? What is wrong with the island, why are all the strongest people trying to get the jump on Lina and who is old man Raudy? Perhaps most importantly of all what to do about a creature that can sidestep the might of Lina's yet most powerful spell - the dreaded kingdom leveling, beast smiting, overkill fireball, Dragon-Slave?! On their path to victory, spoils (and perhaps a larger cup size for Lina) they'll encounter bandits, villainous hot spring resort managers, demonic frogs and plenty of jellyfish - as well as a stone dragon that really gets aHEAD of itself... This is probably the best Slayers movie created, with non-stop magic and action, along with superb Slayers humor and Lina-type mass destruction. A must for all Slayers lovers.
