I first was made aware of Ron Mueck work at the Sensation Exhibition at the Royal Academy where his early piece Dead Dad was on display. I was instantly taken by the realism of the figure but the distortion on form made it more fascinating.
This book is a must for any fan of Mueck's work. It has stunning illustrations of his pieces with words from Mueck himself.
This book provides a very good overview of Ron Mueck's work and his talent for depicting likeness in a sculpture. His attention to detail is boundless and his ideas on positioning, size and look are spot on each time. Not everyone is taken with sculpture that is so realistic but, as with some of the old masters, you just have to observe in amazement.Ron Mueck at the National Gallery (National Gallery of London)
